Myths and common questions
323 things players believe about stats and skills, answered from how the game really behaves. Each answer links to the page with the full explanation. Playing-style questions will be added once that section has been through its review.
General
Is the stat on the card what the match uses?
PartlyThe match starts from the card value with boosters, then changes it live for condition, position, tiredness, manager and active skills.Do condition arrows change stats?
YesThe best arrow adds up to +15 / +11 / +6 on a low-rated player and +3 / +2 / +2 on a 95-rated one; the worst arrow takes up to 12 points. They also change the stamina tank by about ±10 %.Does playing out of position lower all stats?
Most22 stats lose 4–20 %; Defensive Engagement, Tight Possession, Aggression and Weak Foot do not. Boosters are never reduced. Are boosters capped at 99 like skills?
NoBoosters are added after the 99 cap and can reach 120. Skill boosts on a stat already at 99 do nothing.Does weight make players slower?
NoWeight is not used by the match logic; it only shapes the 3D body. Are taller players slower?
NoHeight does not change top speed or acceleration. Players of 165 cm or less get slightly quicker touches and feints, and tall players reach higher in the air.Does Form do anything?
NoOnly the condition arrow matters in a match.Does a +6 stat skill help a player who already has 99?
No, with one exceptionStat-boost skills add their points before the 99 limit is applied, so a player whose stat is at full strength gains nothing from a +6 skill, and a 95 gains only 4. If something else is currently lowering that stat (being out of position, tired, or a weak manager fit), the skill first fills those lost points back up to 99. Booster points are added after the 99 limit and are not cut; they only stop at 120. Action bonuses (+5 on one shot, cross or slide) are different and still count.Do booster points make stat-boost skills useless?
NoBooster points are added after the cap. A 95 card with +5 boosters and Fortress plays at 99 + 5 = 104.Do feint skills unlock the feint?
PartlyCut Behind & Turn, Scotch Move, Tap Trick and the extra moves of Heel Trick, Rabona and Acceleration Burst are new. Double Touch, Chop Turn, Marseille, Scissors and the sole cut exist for everyone; the skill makes them faster.Does Heading or Aerial Superiority make him jump higher?
NoNeither skill touches jump height. Heading improves headed shots; Aerial Superiority counts Physical Contact 5 higher in air duels.Does Long-range Shooting add shot power?
No+5 Finishing on laces shots from outside the box. Only a few rare special shots get +2–3 km/h.More: Long-range Shooting
Is Interception a higher chance to intercept?
NoThere is no chance roll. It makes him react to passes aimed at his man 40 % sooner, and the CPU starts interception attempts earlier.Does Captaincy boost the team’s stats?
NoNo stat changes. On the armband holder it makes CPU-controlled teammates keep running harder when tired.Does Kicking Power make throws, punts or skill passes go further?
NoLong Throw, GK Long Throw and the punts read no stat for distance, and no passing skill reads Kicking Power. Kicking Power only raises the top-speed ceiling of full laces kicks. Can two +5 shooting skills stack on one shot?
NoOnly one +5 applies per shot. Phenomenal Finishing’s +7 and Visionary Pass’s +6 replace it.Does Penalty Specialist make penalties faster?
NoIt only shrinks the random aim error (by 0.1 m each way). Penalty speed comes from Kicking Power.More: Penalty Specialist
Stats: Speed
Stats: Acceleration
Does Acceleration make turns quicker?
NoAcceleration does not change how fast a player rotates: the turning rate is a fixed value that is the same for every player. When you turn with the ball, the rhythm of the touches comes from Tight Possession, not Acceleration. Acceleration only changes how quickly a player builds speed again after any change of direction (and braking by at most about 5 %).More: Acceleration
Does Acceleration help a dribbler pull away?
YesWith the ball, acceleration blends Acceleration and Dribbling.More: Acceleration
Stats: Stamina
Does a high Speed stat drain stamina faster?
NoDrain reads only movement speed and some actions, never a stat.More: Stamina
Does Stamina change how fast a player recovers?
NoRecovery amounts are fixed. A bigger tank just takes longer to empty.More: Stamina
Do condition arrows change the tank?
YesThe best arrow adds about 10 % of a Stamina-80 tank, the worst removes about 10 %. Arrows also change the stats themselves (see the top of the page).More: Stamina
Stats: Balance
Stats: Physical Contact
Does Physical Contact matter when shielding the ball standing still?
YesThe push split and the shoulder-charge hold time need no speed. Only the sprint duel needs 11–25 km/h.More: Physical Contact
Do height or weight decide shoulder duels?
NoIn shoulder charges and body bumps the game compares Physical Contact (and Balance for a sprinting dribbler), plus speed and the angle of the contact. Height is not read there; it only matters in headers (reach, and 2 cm of height counts as 1 point in a header duel). We found no part of the match logic that reads weight.More: Physical Contact
Is a body bump a dice roll?
NoThe push split is a fixed formula with no random part.More: Physical Contact
Does Physical Contact lower injury risk?
Only a littleInjury code does not read it; a higher stat just makes trips slightly less likely.More: Physical Contact
Stats: Jump
Is Jump above 99 wasted?
NoThe reach formula has no cap. In a contested header, though, the combined lead from Heading, Jump, Physical Contact and height stops counting at 30, so extra Jump adds nothing once you are already that far ahead.More: Jump
Does Jump matter outside headers?
BarelyHeader reach, header duels and one keeper fallback at 85. A possible faster upward reach in some keeper or aerial motions is not confirmed.More: Jump
Stats: Dribbling
Does Dribbling decide how far the ball goes ahead on each touch?
NoTouch placement does not read Dribbling; only speed does it indirectly.More: Dribbling
Is a feint skill just +20 Dribbling?
More than thatIt is a 40-point swing for that move: +20 with the skill, −20 without it.More: Dribbling
Are short players more agile?
A littlePlayers of 165 cm or less get up to about 5 % faster feints and quicker touch animations, fading to nothing at 195 cm. Top speed and acceleration do not depend on height.More: Dribbling
Stats: Ball Control
Does Ball Control help normal dribbling?
NoTop speed, touch timing and dribble planning never read it. In the dribble code it only affects feint touches.More: Ball Control
Does Ball Control matter when intercepting?
NoWhen the ball was last played by an opponent, the first touch uses Tackling.More: Ball Control
Is the first touch perfect at 99?
NoThe push is gone, but a small random direction error and speed leak remain.More: Ball Control
Stats: Tight Possession
Does Tight Possession matter at speed?
PartlyTouch interval and turn rhythm have no speed limit; only the slow-turn wait is below 20 km/h. It does not change top speed.More: Tight Possession
Stats: Weak Foot Usage
Does a high level make him use the weak foot when he does not need to?
NoThe roll only happens when the kick goes to his weak side. Level 4 allows the weak foot; it never forces it.More: Weak Foot Usage
Stats: Weak Foot Accuracy
Does it apply to penalties and free kicks?
YesWhenever the weaker foot strikes the ball, set pieces included.More: Weak Foot Accuracy
Stats: Finishing
Does Finishing make shots faster?
NoA shot's speed comes from Kicking Power and how much of the power gauge you use. Finishing does not add speed; it makes the speed and direction of each shot more consistent and speeds up the shooting motion.More: Finishing
Is there a power-vs-accuracy trade-off with Kicking Power?
Mostly noKicking Power does not change how far a shot strays in direction or height. Using more of the power gauge is what costs accuracy. The one link is a small speed effect near the top-speed cap, where a very hard kick can come out a little slower than planned.More: Finishing
Stats: Low Pass
Stats: Lofted Pass
Does Lofted Pass affect crosses?
YesCrosses use Lofted Pass for accuracy and Curl for spin.More: Lofted Pass
Stats: Heading
Stats: Curl
Does Curl affect normal shots and passes?
NoOnly curl motions, crosses and set pieces read it.More: Curl
Stats: Kicking Power
Does Kicking Power matter for passing?
BarelyPasses are planned from the passing stats, distance and the power you use; Kicking Power plays no part in aiming or choosing a pass. It only sets a top-speed cap that every kick passes through, so it matters for the hardest, longest passes and clearances, and it adds speed to long free kicks and corners.More: Kicking Power
Does Kicking Power cost accuracy?
Mostly noKicking Power does not change how far a kick strays in direction or height, and never raises mishit chance. The one link: it sets the top speed of a kick, and a very hard kick close to that top speed tends to come out a little slower than planned, so low Kicking Power slightly shrinks the hardest kicks.More: Kicking Power
Stats: Set Piece Taking
Does it matter for corners?
YesCorners and long free-kick deliveries get the same aim scatter (3.75 m at 40 to 1.9 m at 99 over 30 m).More: Set Piece Taking
Stats: Offensive Awareness
Does Offensive Awareness matter for the player I control?
Almost neverOffensive Awareness is not used in shooting, passing, dribbling or ball control. It is read by the AI that decides when teammates start runs, how quickly a team switches to attack after winning the ball, and set-piece and pass-reaction timing. There is also a small blend with Acceleration for attackers running without the ball; we could not show that the player you control is excluded from that one.More: Offensive Awareness
Stats: Defensive Awareness
Does Defensive Awareness help the defender I control?
PartlyOnly for automatic blocks (reach and timing). Marking and reading dribbles are CPU-only.More: Defensive Awareness
Stats: Defensive Engagement
Does Defensive Engagement help my own pressing?
NoThe press code skips the player you control. Whether assisted pressing uses it is not confirmed.More: Defensive Engagement
Is the interception effect a chance?
NoIt is a wait before the attempt starts.More: Defensive Engagement
Stats: Tackling
Does Tackling beat a strong dribbler's stats?
No duelNo tackle code compares Tackling with the dribbler's stats. Tackling sets reach, angle and accuracy; Physical Contact and Balance act in separate contact code.More: Tackling
Stats: Aggression
Does Aggression cause more fouls or cards?
NoThe referee code uses angle, speed and tackle type plus fixed situation rules (such as where the contact happens), and never a player stat. There is an indirect link: higher Aggression lets a defender start long tackles from farther away. Whether those tackles are fouled more often has not been measured.More: Aggression
Does Aggression make tackles win the ball more often?
NoAggression does not make a tackle more likely to win the ball once it has started. It only decides how far away a defender may start his long-reach tackles (2 m up to 5 m between 60 and 95), when an extra tackle variant is allowed, and, for computer-controlled players only, how tightly and how early they mark and press.More: Aggression
Stats: GK Catching
Does Catching help parries?
NoParries use Parrying. Only slow shots use the best of Catching, Reflexes and Reach.More: GK Catching
Stats: GK Parrying
Stats: Injury Resistance
Does Form do anything in a match?
NoIts only read is a checksum. The condition arrow is what changes stats and stamina.More: Injury Resistance
Skills: Scissors Feint
Does the skill unlock the scissors?
NoEveryone has a scissors. The skill swaps in a quicker skill-only animation on the same command.More: Scissors Feint
Do players without the skill do the scissors 20 Dribbling slower?
NoTheir plain scissors is not on the −20 list; it uses their normal Dribbling.More: Scissors Feint
Do you need high Dribbling for the skill to work?
NoThere is no Dribbling check. Dribbling only sets how fast it plays.More: Scissors Feint
Does Balance make feints faster or safer?
NoThe feint code only reads Dribbling, Ball Control, preferred foot and Weak Foot Usage. Balance is never read.Skills: Flip Flap
Can a player without Flip Flap do a flip flap?
PartlyHalf the time in the flip-flap direction, with a different and slower animation (Dribbling counted 20 lower).More: Flip Flap
Does owning Double Touch as well help?
NoWith both skills the flip-flap direction becomes a 50/50 between the two moves.More: Flip Flap
Does Flip Flap need high Dribbling?
NoThere is no Dribbling check; Dribbling only sets the speed.More: Flip Flap
Can owning the skill ever cost a feint?
PartlyIn the code, 40 % of double touches in one direction become an entry with no animation, so no feint starts. Not yet seen in a match.More: Flip Flap
Skills: Marseille Turn
Can you do a Marseille turn without the skill?
YesYes, a basic one on forward turn inputs, but slow: Dribbling counts 20 lower and it has a further speed penalty.More: Marseille Turn
Is the skill just +20 Dribbling?
NoIt is a 40-point Dribbling gap (+20 instead of −20), a removed penalty and a different animation: about 20 % faster.More: Marseille Turn, Double Touch
Does Weak Foot Usage limit the Marseille?
PartlyOnly the basic version at Weak Foot Usage level 1. The skill version ignores it.More: Marseille Turn
Does Marseille Turn need high Dribbling?
NoThere is no Dribbling check; Dribbling only sets the speed.More: Marseille Turn
Skills: Sombrero
Does Sombrero make the flick always work?
NoAt best (Ball Control 89 and up) about 98 % of flicks are clean.More: Sombrero
Is Sombrero still useful at 99 Ball Control?
PartlyNot for the flick checks, which are already at 99. The receptions, lifted-trap and speed effects still apply.More: Sombrero
Do booster points on Ball Control help the flick?
PartlyOnly for players without the skill. For owners the check is capped at 99.More: Sombrero
Does the skill let you receive a pass with a sombrero?
YesSome special receiving animations are only allowed with the skill.More: Sombrero
Skills: Cut Behind & Turn
Can players without the skill do a cut behind?
NoThey get the basic cut on the same input.More: Cut Behind & Turn
Is the special trapping motion real?
YesOn wide turns of 135° or more, owners use a different turn animation when one fits.More: Cut Behind & Turn
Does it work to both sides?
NoOnly to the side set by his preferred foot; the other back direction gives the basic cut.More: Cut Behind & Turn
Does the move need high Dribbling?
NoThere is no Dribbling check; Dribbling only sets the speed.Skills: Scotch Move
Can players without the skill do a Scotch move?
NoThey get the basic cut on the same input.More: Scotch Move
Skills: Sole Control
Does Sole Control matter for players who never use sole moves?
YesThe basic cut every player has is about 10 % faster with it and slower without it.More: Sole Control
Do you need Double Touch to get the sole double touch?
NoSole Control and an opponent within 4 m are enough in one direction, but without Double Touch it plays at Dribbling −20.More: Sole Control
Skills: Double Touch
Does Double Touch need high Dribbling to work?
NoIt works at any Dribbling; Dribbling sets the speed for everyone.More: Double Touch
Can players without the skill do a double touch?
YesYes, a basic and slower one on the same command.More: Double Touch
Skills: Chop Turn
Can players without the skill do a chop turn?
YesYes, on backward turn inputs, but slower and with looser touches.More: Chop Turn
Does Chop Turn need high Dribbling?
NoThere is no Dribbling check; Dribbling only sets the speed.More: Chop Turn
Does owning Marseille Turn as well help?
PartlyIt does not slow the chop, but sideways and backward inputs then become a mix of both turns instead of always the chop.More: Chop Turn
Skills: Tap Trick
Skills: Heel Trick
Does Heel Trick remove the weak-foot penalty on heel kicks?
NoThe usual weak-foot accuracy penalty still applies.More: Heel Trick
Can players without the skill back-heel?
PartlyThey can play short backward passes up to 7 m, but not the heel-flick animations or the heel shot.More: Heel Trick
Is the +5 wasted on a 99 Finishing player?
NoIt is added inside the kick formula, which keeps rising above 99.More: Heel Trick
Does Heel Trick make every pass more accurate?
NoOnly kicks played with a heel animation get the +5.More: Heel Trick
Skills: Rabona
Does Rabona make the kick more accurate?
NoIt only adds the Rabona animation; accuracy comes from the normal pass and shot stats.More: Rabona
Do weak-foot stats matter for Rabona?
PartlyNot for Rabona kicks. Weak Foot Usage level 4 lets the Rabona turning touch happen on either side.More: Rabona
Does Rabona add a Rabona fake feint?
NoThe code tries to (4 in 10 times on one input), but that entry has no animation in this version, so no feint starts. Not yet seen in a match.More: Rabona
Skills: Momentum Dribbling
Does Momentum Dribbling raise his speed?
Yes+6 Speed and +6 Acceleration as well as Dribbling and Tight Possession: up to about 0.9 km/h more top speed with the ball.More: Momentum Dribbling
Does it work anywhere in the opponent half?
NoOnly from 18 m past halfway, roughly the attacking third.More: Momentum Dribbling
Is it useful on a player with 99 Dribbling and Speed?
PartlyNot for those two stats, which are already capped. It still helps Tight Possession and Acceleration if they are below 99.More: Momentum Dribbling
Do booster points make it useless?
NoBooster points are added after the cap and are never cut, so a 95 card with +5 boosters plays at 99 + 5 = 104 with the skill (100 without).More: Momentum Dribbling
Skills: Acceleration Burst
Does Acceleration Burst help without the ball?
NoEvery effect is in the dribble code, with the ball.More: Acceleration Burst
Does it raise his Acceleration stat?
NoHis stat does not change; only his pick-up with the ball below 20 km/h gets 2.5 % stronger.More: Acceleration Burst
Is it useful at top speed?
NoEvery bonus switches off from 20 km/h. It is for bursting from a standstill or a slow dribble.More: Acceleration Burst
Skills: Magnetic Feet
Does Magnetic Feet take a stat past 99?
NoThe boost stops at 99; only booster points can take the stat above 99.More: Magnetic Feet
Do booster points add on top of Magnetic Feet?
YesBooster points are always added after the skill boost and are never cut.More: Magnetic Feet
Skills: Long-range Shooting
From what distance does it work — is there an 18 m zone?
PartlyFrom beyond the penalty-box line, 16.4 m from the goal line measured straight out; it is not 18 m and not a circle around the goal.More: Long-range Shooting
Does it work on curled shots?
NoControlled curl shots use a different kick; they can get Long-range Curler's +5 instead.More: Long-range Shooting
Is the +5 wasted at Finishing 99?
NoIt is added inside the shot calculation, so it still helps at 99, just less.Skills: Long-range Curler
Does Long-range Curler only work from long range?
PartlyThe accuracy and speed bonuses work on every Controlled Shot at any distance; only the special animation needs about 18 m or more.More: Long-range Curler
Does it need high Kicking Power?
PartlyThe speed part does (0 at 40, 3 km/h at 99, 4 km/h at 120); the +5 and the animation choice ignore Kicking Power.More: Long-range Curler, Low Screamer
Does it add Curl?
NoThe bend is calculated from the Curl stat; the skill is not checked there.Skills: Blitz Curler
Does Blitz Curler make the shot more accurate?
PartlyNo Finishing points, but 30 % smaller speed and height errors on the Blitz kick.More: Blitz Curler
Is it better with high Kicking Power?
YesThe speed bonus is 0 at 40, about 1 km/h at 70 and 4 km/h at 99 (5.4 at 120).More: Blitz Curler
Does Curl matter for Blitz Curler?
YesCurl sets how much topspin (dip) the Blitz shot gets.More: Blitz Curler
Does it work with the weak foot?
PartlyOnly with Weak Foot Accuracy at its top level.Skills: Knuckle Shot
Does Knuckle Shot need high Kicking Power?
NoKicking Power is not part of the trigger and not read by the knuckle code.More: Knuckle Shot
Can I knuckle a moving ball in open play?
PartlyOnly if the ball is moving slower than 30 km/h when he strikes it.More: Knuckle Shot
Does it make the ball wobble or swerve?
PartlyThe shot is labelled as a knuckle shot, but no code was found that reads this label in the ball's flight, so a different flight could not be confirmed.More: Knuckle Shot
Does it make free kicks better?
PartlyNot shown: the free-kick code reads the skill only to cancel Dipping Shot's topspin. Whether a Stunning free kick can also take the knuckle label (and its +5) was not traced.More: Knuckle Shot
Skills: Dipping Shot
Do Curl or Kicking Power make the dip stronger?
NoThe dipping topspin and the extra launch angle are fixed numbers; no stat is read.More: Dipping Shot
Can a player have both Dipping Shot and Low Screamer working?
NoLow Screamer always wins under 50 % power, so the dipping shot is never chosen.More: Dipping Shot
Does the ball really fly differently?
YesIt is launched up to 4–10° steeper and, in one form of the animation, gets heavy topspin.More: Dipping Shot
Skills: Rising Shot
Does Rising Shot need high Kicking Power?
NoThe trigger reads the power bar, the kick, the contact, the foot and the skill only.More: Rising Shot
Does it work at full power?
NoAt 95 % power or more the shot stays an ordinary Stunning Shot.More: Rising Shot
Does the ball rise more in flight?
PartlyThe shot is labelled as a rising shot, but the launch, spin and speed code never reads that label, so a different flight could not be confirmed.More: Rising Shot
Skills: Low Screamer
Does Low Screamer add a fixed amount of speed?
NoIt reads the speed at 20 % more power, so the gain depends on distance, power and Kicking Power (roughly 3–15 km/h).More: Low Screamer
Does it make the shot more accurate?
NoNo Finishing or accuracy change is read for this skill.More: Low Screamer
Skills: Snap Strike
Does Snap Strike add shot power or accuracy?
NoOnly the kick timing reads this skill; no speed or accuracy code does.More: Snap Strike
Is the saving the same for every player?
Partly2 ticks for most players, 3 ticks at Finishing 79–83.More: Snap Strike
Skills: First-time Shot
Does First-time Shot add Finishing?
NoThe Finishing bonus code never checks this skill; it reduces the fast-ball penalty instead.More: First-time Shot
Does it help first-time headers?
NoAll three places skip headers before the cut is applied.More: First-time Shot
Does it matter on a slow pass?
NoThe penalties only start from about 10–15 km/h of relative ball speed upward, so there is nothing to reduce on a slow ball.More: First-time Shot
Skills: Acrobatic Finishing
Does Acrobatic Finishing only add accuracy?
NoIt also unlocks two animations and changes pace, launch height, the time to get into the kick and mishit chances.More: Acrobatic Finishing
Does it need high Kicking Power for powerful volleys?
NoThe extra volley pace is taken from the incoming ball's speed; Kicking Power is not read there.More: Acrobatic Finishing
Skills: Phenomenal Finishing
Does Phenomenal Finishing add shot power?
PartlyOnly by losing less speed to an awkward posture; a clean shot is not faster.More: Phenomenal Finishing
Does it stack with Acrobatic Finishing's +5?
NoThe +7 replaces the +5, but their mishit reductions do combine.More: Phenomenal Finishing
Is the +7 wasted at Finishing 99?
NoIt is added inside the shot calculation, so it still helps at 99, just less.More: Phenomenal Finishing
Skills: Chip Shot Control
Does Chip Shot Control remove the running penalty?
PartlyIt shrinks it: no loss below 16 km/h and about half the average loss at full speed.More: Chip Shot Control
Does it help chipped penalties?
YesThe extra random miss for chipping a penalty is 0.2 m instead of 0.4 m.More: Chip Shot Control
Skills: Heading
Does the Heading skill make him jump higher?
NoThe jump code never reads this skill; jump height comes from Jump and Height.More: Heading
Does it help him win aerial duels?
NoThe contested-header calculation uses Heading, Jump, Physical Contact, Height, Aerial Superiority and Bullet Header, not this skill.More: Heading
Does it improve headed passes and clearances?
NoThe +5 is only given when the header is a shot.More: Heading
Is the +5 wasted when Heading is already 99?
NoIt is added inside the shot calculation, so it still helps at 99 and with boosters, just less than at 60–85.More: Heading
Does it make headers more powerful?
PartlyThe header's top speed rises with the same Heading value that gets the +5, so headed shots get about 1–2 km/h more top speed; Bullet Header adds a flat 4 km/h.More: Heading
Skills: Bullet Header
Does Bullet Header win more aerial duels?
NoThe duel score is calculated without this skill; it only halves the mishit chance after the duel.More: Bullet Header
Does it add Heading points?
NoIt reduces specific penalties instead of adding to Heading.More: Bullet Header
Does it help headed passes?
NoEvery effect first checks that the header is a shot.More: Bullet Header
Skills: Penalty Specialist
Does it beat the goalkeeper more often by itself?
NoIt is only read in the penalty aim error; the keeper's reactions do not check it.More: Penalty Specialist
Is it worth it with 99 Set Piece Taking and Finishing?
YesThe 0.1 m cut is the same at any stats, and the blend has no cap, so it still helps at 99.More: Penalty Specialist
Skills: Willpower
Does Willpower work for the player I control?
YesIt is a stat boost on the player, not an AI behaviour.More: Willpower
Is it wasted when Finishing is already 99?
YesA 99 before boosters gets nothing; boosters still count on top.More: Willpower
Do missed shots count, or only goals?
YesEvery recorded shot counts, on target or not.More: Willpower
Skills: Through Passing
Is Through Passing wasted on a 99 Low Pass player?
PartlyNot cut off: the +5 still applies at 99 and with booster points, but by then the error is already small, so the gain is tiny (about 0.04 degrees on a hard pass).More: Through Passing
Does it raise Low Pass or Lofted Pass on the card?
NoNo. Only through balls get the +5, and only inside the accuracy calculation.More: Through Passing
Does it make through balls faster or kicked sooner?
NoNo. No speed or timing code reads the skill, and the kick-timing use of Low Pass reads it without the +5.More: Through Passing
Does Kicking Power matter for through balls?
NoNo. Kicking Power does not set normal pass speed or accuracy.More: Through Passing
Does it stack with Pinpoint Crossing or Visionary Pass?
NoNo. The game uses the single biggest bonus: +7, else +6, else +5.More: Through Passing
Skills: Pinpoint Crossing
Is Pinpoint Crossing wasted on a 99 Lofted Pass crosser?
PartlyNot cut off: the +5 still applies at 99 and with booster points, but the gain there is small (under 0.1 degrees). The Curl +5 and the earlier curling versions still matter.More: Pinpoint Crossing
Does it raise Lofted Pass on the card?
NoNo. Only crosses get the bonus, and only inside the cross.More: Pinpoint Crossing
Does it only affect crosses?
PartlyMostly, but it also opens curling versions of long lofted passes and through balls 5 Curl points earlier.More: Pinpoint Crossing
Does Kicking Power make crosses faster or better?
NoNo. Cross accuracy and spin do not read Kicking Power.More: Pinpoint Crossing
Skills: Visionary Pass
Does only the intended receiver benefit?
NoNo. The game only checks that the player is on the same team as the last kicker, so whoever on his team kicks first gets it.More: Visionary Pass
Does the passer himself benefit on a return ball?
PartlyYes on a first-time return (a one-touch one-two): the tag is carried back, so his trap and next kick get +6. A return played after the receiver has controlled the ball carries no tag, unless the receiver has the skill too.More: Visionary Pass
Does it only help one-touch passes and first-time shots?
PartlyThe bonus itself has no first-time check and traps get it too. Whether a receiver who controls the ball first still gets +6 on his following kick depends on whether the controlling touch ends the tag, which was not settled.More: Visionary Pass
Does Visionary Pass change where the passer aims or who he picks?
NoNo. The skill is only read when his pass is tagged; no target-choice code reads it.More: Visionary Pass
Does it stack with the receiver's Through Passing or Phenomenal Pass?
NoNo. The game uses the single biggest bonus: +7, else +6, else +5.More: Visionary Pass
Skills: Phenomenal Pass
Does Phenomenal Pass add Kicking Power?
NoNo. 'Power' means the pass loses less pace from an awkward contact; Kicking Power is not read for this.More: Phenomenal Pass
Does it help normal, balanced passes?
NoNo. Every part is gated by the awkward-position check.More: Phenomenal Pass
Does it stack with Through Passing on an awkward through ball?
NoNo. The game uses +6 instead of +5.More: Phenomenal Pass
Is it wasted at 99 Low Pass?
PartlyNot cut off, but above 90 the accuracy gain is small; the pace and miskick effects do not depend on any stat.More: Phenomenal Pass
Skills: One-touch Pass
Does One-touch Pass make him release the ball sooner?
NoNo. No timing or animation code reads the skill; it only lowers the accuracy cost of a fast-arriving ball.More: One-touch Pass
Is it only a CPU skill?
NoNo. The accuracy and miskick parts run in the kick code for your passes too; the CPU part is extra.More: One-touch Pass
Does it help on slow, simple lay-offs?
PartlyHardly. Every part grows with the arrival speed, so a slow ball gains almost nothing.More: One-touch Pass
Does it help first-time shots?
NoNo. For shots the same check asks for First-time Shot instead.More: One-touch Pass
Skills: Weighted Pass
Does Weighted Pass make lofted passes more accurate?
NoNo. The skill is not read anywhere in the accuracy code; it changes the kind of ball, not its accuracy.More: Weighted Pass
Does it work on normal 25 to 40 m lofted passes?
NoNo. The weighted version needs more than 45 m.More: Weighted Pass
Does it work on crosses?
NoNo. The check that picks the weighted version rejects crosses.More: Weighted Pass, Low Lofted Pass
Does Weighted Pass alone give the backspin chipped through ball?
NoNo. The chip's extra backspin needs Low Lofted Pass as well; Weighted Pass alone gives the long backspin ball.More: Weighted Pass
Does it actually change the ball?
YesYes. The weighted version requests its own kicking motion, and that motion carries backspin of 8 instead of the usual 1 to 3.More: Weighted Pass
Skills: Low Lofted Pass
Does Low Lofted Pass add accuracy?
NoNo. The skill is not read in the accuracy code; it changes the flight, not the aim.More: Low Lofted Pass
Does it lower every lofted pass?
NoNo. Nothing below 30 m; the full effect from 50 m.More: Low Lofted Pass
Does Low Pass matter for low lofted passes?
NoNo. Lofted Pass sets their accuracy and planned height.More: Low Lofted Pass
Skills: Outside Curler
Can players without Outside Curler use the outside of the boot?
PartlyYes for short outside-foot passes; the longer curling ones and outside-foot shots need the skill.More: Outside Curler
Does Outside Curler make outside-foot passes more accurate?
NoNo. It unlocks motions and keeps more curl; accuracy is not touched.More: Outside Curler
Does Curl matter for outside-foot balls?
YesYes. Curl (with Set Piece Taking) sets the spin size before the outside-foot cut.More: Outside Curler
Is Low Pass relevant?
YesYes. Below Low Pass 70 most outside-foot ground passes are skipped.More: Outside Curler
Skills: Edged Crossing
Does Edged Crossing cut cross errors to 30 %?
NoNo. The height and pace errors become 70 % of normal (30 % smaller), and the left/right error is not changed.More: Edged Crossing
Is Edged Crossing just a stat boost?
NoNo. It unlocks its own cross motion; no stat is raised.More: Edged Crossing
Does it work on first-time crosses?
PartlyOnly when the ball is slow (under 30 km/h); a first-time cross of a fast pass uses the normal cross.More: Edged Crossing
Skills: No Look Pass
Does No Look Pass make passes harder to intercept?
NoNo. No defender or interception code reads the skill; it changes the motion and where he looks, not the defending.More: No Look Pass
Skills: Game-changing Pass
Does it work in extra time?
YesYes. It stays on in both halves of extra time while his team is not ahead.More: Game-changing Pass
Does it make his passes faster or more powerful?
NoNo. It only raises Low Pass and Lofted Pass, which set accuracy and how quickly some kicking motions play, not ball speed.More: Game-changing Pass
Is it useful on a 99 Low Pass / Lofted Pass player?
NoNo. A 99 before booster points gains nothing; booster points do not change that.More: Game-changing Pass
Does it only help one-touch or through passes?
NoNo. Every pass, cross, clearance and long ball that uses those stats benefits.More: Game-changing Pass
Skills: Attack Trigger
Does the ball holder himself get the boost?
NoNo. The game skips the holder; only his teammates get +3.More: Attack Trigger
Does it make my controlled player smarter or faster?
NoNo. Offensive Awareness only steers CPU teammates.More: Attack Trigger
Does the boost last after he passes?
NoNo. It ends the moment he lets go of the ball, so it only shapes runs that start while he is on the ball.More: Attack Trigger
Does it stack if two teammates have Attack Trigger?
NoNo. Only the current holder counts, and the +3 never doubles.More: Attack Trigger
Skills: Attacking Surge
Does it make him faster when dribbling in the attacking half?
NoNo. The boost switches off the moment he receives the ball.More: Attacking Surge
Is it active in the attacking third only?
NoNo. Anywhere in the opponent half counts.More: Attacking Surge
Does it help a 99-Speed player?
NoNo. At 99 Speed and Acceleration (before booster points) it adds nothing.More: Attacking Surge
Does it work while the opponents have the ball?
NoNo. Only while a teammate has it.More: Attacking Surge
Skills: Long Throw
Does Long Throw depend on Kicking Power, Physical Contact or any other stat?
NoNo. No throw-in code reads a thrower stat; only the skill and the gauge set distance and speed.More: Long Throw
Does it make every throw-in longer?
PartlyOnly throws with more than 60 % of the gauge get longer.More: Long Throw
Does the CPU take long throws more often with the skill?
YesYes. A CPU thrower with the skill looks for the long throw straight away instead of after about 3 s.More: Long Throw
Skills: Interception
Does Interception raise a percentage chance to intercept?
NoAll four parts only shorten delays or loosen limits; none of them uses a random roll.More: Interception
Does it help the defender I control?
NoEvery part is in the defender AI; for your own player, your timing decides.More: Interception
Is it wasted at 99 Defensive Engagement?
PartlyThe Defensive Engagement parts are, but the 40 % faster reaction to passes aimed at his man still works.More: Interception
Skills: Man Marking
Does Man Marking make the player I control stick to his man?
NoIt only changes how often the CPU updates where he should go when he marks someone.More: Man Marking
Is Man Marking worth it on a 97 Defensive Awareness centre-back?
NoFrom 96 the +5 is capped at 99, which is the same 0.11 s step he already has.More: Man Marking
Does it need the man-marking individual instruction?
NoEvery player the marking AI assigns to an opponent uses it.More: Man Marking
Does it give +5 Defensive Awareness everywhere?
NoThe +5 exists only inside this one pause calculation; his stat does not change.More: Man Marking
Skills: Track Back
Does Track Back make the player I control run back faster?
NoEvery effect is in the CPU's off-ball decisions; the press check explicitly skips the user-controlled player.More: Track Back
Does it give him more stamina or speed for chasing?
NoOnly distances, angles and Defensive Engagement / Awareness inside decisions change; no Speed or Stamina is added.More: Track Back
Is it only for forwards ('from the frontlines')?
NoNo position or zone is checked; any player with the skill gets it.More: Track Back
Skills: Blocker
Does Blocker make him block more shots?
PartlyIt widens and lifts his block a little (the same as +5 Defensive Awareness) and the CPU always considers him for block positions; there is no extra block chance.More: Blocker
Is Blocker useless on a 99 Defensive Awareness defender?
NoBlock reach keeps growing to 120 and the +5 is not capped at 99.More: Blocker
Does it really limit rebounds?
YesTwo rebound terms are dropped, so blocked balls keep a little less pace.More: Blocker
Does Blocker make him jump in front of shots on his own?
NoEvery player blocks automatically; no new block move needs the skill.More: Blocker
Skills: Aerial Superiority
Does Aerial Superiority make him jump higher?
NoNone of its code touches jump reach; Jump and Height still decide how high he gets.More: Aerial Superiority
Does it help attackers too, not only defenders?
YesThe header formulas run for whoever heads the ball, so a striker gains in his own headers too, and it hurts opponents heading against him.More: Aerial Superiority
Does it help in ground shoulder duels?
NoOnly while the ball is in the air above 2 m.More: Aerial Superiority
Is it worth the same as +5 Physical Contact?
PartlyInside aerial duels yes, plus it takes 5 off an opponent who also has it; on the ground it does nothing.More: Aerial Superiority
Skills: Sliding Tackle
Can only players with Sliding Tackle slide?
NoEveryone can slide; the skill makes slides faster and longer.More: Sliding Tackle
Does the skill raise the chance to win the ball?
NoNo ball-win roll exists in its code; it wins more balls only by reaching more of them.More: Sliding Tackle
Do booster points count for slides?
YesSlides read Tackling with boosters and the skill's +5 has no 99 limit; Tackling 100+ gives the top 110 % speed step.More: Sliding Tackle
Skills: Long-reach Tackle
Does Long-reach Tackle only work when standing still?
NoNo speed condition was found at any of the skill's checks.More: Long-reach Tackle
Does it add a new tackle animation?
YesAt least one standing-tackle move is rejected without the skill.More: Long-reach Tackle
Is it the same as having higher Tackling?
PartlyFor far tackles it is worth more than the whole Tackling 40–99 range on reach and as much as 30 Tackling points on angle, but it does not help other tackles.More: Long-reach Tackle
Skills: Power Tackle
Does Power Tackle allow tackling head-on?
PartlyIt allows body-contact tackles from straighter lines, but not face to face.More: Power Tackle
Can a strong dribbler shrug off a Power Tackle with high Physical Contact?
NoWhen the Power Tackle hit lands, the carrier's Physical Contact is not used for his reaction.More: Power Tackle
Does high Balance stop the fall?
NoBalance only shortens a stagger; falls are not affected by it.More: Power Tackle
Does it give a foul-free tackle?
NoThe referee judges every tackle the same way and reads no skills.More: Power Tackle
Skills: Acrobatic Clearance
Can players without the skill do these acrobatic clearances?
NoThe search for these moves is skipped without the skill.More: Acrobatic Clearance
Does it improve every clearance?
PartlyOnly the new moves and clearances from an awkward body position; normal clearances are unchanged.More: Acrobatic Clearance
Does it need high Heading or Jump?
NoNo stat is checked; the ball's direction and speed decide.More: Acrobatic Clearance
Skills: Fortress
Does Fortress work when the score is level in the second half?
NoIt needs a lead: own goals must be more than the opponent's.More: Fortress
Is Fortress only for defenders or only in his own half?
NoNo position or zone is checked; any player with the skill gets it anywhere.More: Fortress
Is Fortress wasted on a player with 99 in those stats?
YesA stat already at 99 before boosters gains nothing; boosters do not change that.More: Fortress
Does Fortress make him foul more because of the Aggression boost?
NoThe referee's foul decision reads no stats, so Aggression has no direct effect on fouls.More: Fortress
Skills: Aerial Fort
Does Aerial Fort work anywhere in the defensive third?
NoOnly the penalty area counts: the ball or the player must be in it.More: Aerial Fort
Does it make him jump higher?
PartlyYes, by about 2–3 cm, because it adds 4 Jump; it is not a separate jump boost.More: Aerial Fort
Is it active for every ball in the box?
NoGround balls do not switch it on; the ball must be above his head height or he must be heading or clearing.More: Aerial Fort
Does the boost go past 99?
NoA 99 Jump or 99 Physical Contact gains nothing from it.More: Aerial Fort
Skills: Shadow Hunt
Does Shadow Hunt work for any defender, e.g. a centre-back used at CMF?
NoThe slot he plays in must be CB, LB, RB or DMF; his natural position does not count.More: Shadow Hunt
Does it stay on after he intercepts or the opponent controls the pass?
NoIt needs a loose ball; it ends the moment anyone controls it.More: Shadow Hunt
Is +3 Speed worth much on a 95 Speed defender?
PartlyOnly about +0.18 km/h; it is worth most between 60 and 87.More: Shadow Hunt
Skills: Gamesmanship
Does the referee give more fouls to a Gamesmanship player?
PartlyOnly indirectly: he falls from more near-miss tackles, and each fall is judged by the same rules as anyone else's.More: Gamesmanship
Does it help to win penalties?
NoThe wider trip check is switched off inside the penalty area he is attacking.More: Gamesmanship
Does it only work with the ball?
NoThe code does not check possession, but it only reacts to tackles, and tackles are mostly aimed at the ball carrier.More: Gamesmanship
Do Balance or Physical Contact change how easily he goes down here?
NoThe trip check compares foot distances only; no stat is read.More: Gamesmanship
Does it make him dive without contact?
NoThe tackler's foot still has to come within 11 cm of his leg.More: Gamesmanship
Skills: GK Penalty Saver
Does GK Penalty Saver make the keeper guess the right side more often?
NoNone of its three code sites chooses a dive direction; it only raises the save rating.More: GK Penalty Saver
Is it useless on a keeper with 99 or booster points?
NoThe half-value rule above 100 is applied first and the +5 after it, so even a 120 stat gets the full +5.More: GK Penalty Saver
Do booster points count fully in the save rating?
PartlyUp to 100 they count fully; each point above 100 counts half.More: GK Penalty Saver
Does it work in penalty shoot-outs?
PartlyIt checks that a penalty kick is being taken; shoot-out kicks very likely count the same way, but this was not traced.More: GK Penalty Saver
Skills: GK Low Punt
Can a keeper without the skill play a low punt?
NoThe low punt type is only chosen when the keeper has GK Low Punt, both for your punts and the CPU's.More: GK Low Punt
Does GK Low Punt add accuracy?
PartlyThere is no accuracy bonus; the low punt flies flatter and the game checks the path to the target before kicking it.More: GK Low Punt
Can I still play the normal medium-height punt with this keeper?
NoWith the skill the normal punt is always replaced by the low punt; only the high punt stays available.More: GK Low Punt
Does Kicking Power make punts longer?
NoNo punt code reads Kicking Power; the length comes from where the punt is aimed.More: GK Low Punt
Skills: GK High Punt
Does GK High Punt unlock the high punt?
NoEvery keeper can play the high punt with the High Punt Kick command; the skill only makes long ones go about 60 m instead of about 50 m.More: GK High Punt
Does Kicking Power make the high punt go further?
NoThe long high punt's length is fixed by the skill (about 60 m) or the default (about 50 m); Kicking Power is not read.More: GK High Punt
Does it make every punt longer?
NoOnly high punts aimed 33 m or more, or kicked at full power. Other punts are unchanged.More: GK High Punt
Skills: GK Long Throw
Does GK Long Throw make throws faster?
No sign of itOnly the distance limits and targets change; nothing in the throw's speed setup reads the skill.More: GK Long Throw
Do Kicking Power or Lofted Pass add throw distance?
NoNo stat is read where throw distance is planned or limited.More: GK Long Throw
Does it help short throws?
PartlyAimed throws under 30 m are unchanged; throws into open space go further at any power.More: GK Long Throw
Skills: GK Directing Defence
Does it boost the goalkeeper's own stats?
NoOnly teammates playing CB, LB or RB are boosted.More: GK Directing Defence
Does it help defensive midfielders?
NoDMF is a separate position group and fails the check.More: GK Directing Defence
Does it only work for the defender I control?
NoIt is a stat change for every CB, LB and RB, controlled by you or by the CPU.More: GK Directing Defence
Does it work in the whole of my own half?
NoOnly the part within about 34.5 m of the goal line; between there and the halfway line there is no boost.More: GK Directing Defence
Skills: GK Spirit Roar
Does it work in the first half if we are leading?
NoIt only switches on from the second half.More: GK Spirit Roar
Does the defender have to be near his own goal?
NoThere is no position check; anywhere on the pitch counts.More: GK Spirit Roar
Skills: Captaincy
Does Captaincy boost the whole team's stats?
NoNo stat is raised for anyone; it only changes when tired CPU teammates ease off.More: Captaincy
Does it work on any player who has it?
NoThe game reads the skill only from the player wearing the armband.More: Captaincy
Does it make players lose stamina more slowly?
NoStamina drain is unchanged; tired CPU teammates just keep working harder for longer.More: Captaincy
Skills: Super-sub
Does it work if he comes on in the first half?
NoA first-half substitute gets nothing for the whole match.More: Super-sub
Skills: Fighting Spirit
Does Fighting Spirit add stats when losing?
NoIt has no score or time trigger and raises no stat.More: Fighting Spirit
Does it slow stamina drain?

Does it remove pressure completely?
NoIt cuts the pressure penalty by 20 %, not to zero.More: Fighting Spirit
Does it help headers too?
YesHeaders under pressure lose 20 % less accuracy as well.More: Fighting Spirit
Does the fatigue part work for the player I control?
NoOnly while the computer controls him.More: Fighting Spirit

Does Thames already do anything if a player has it?
NoNo match code checks it in this version.More: Upcoming: “Thames”
Does it give a hidden stat boost?
NoIt is not in the game's list of skill stat boosts.More: Upcoming: “Thames”
Skills: Upcoming: “Nile”
Does Nile give the keeper more Speed or Acceleration when coming out?
