Attack Trigger

Stat boostChecked
In one sentence
While he has the ball, every other teammate gets +3 Offensive Awareness, which only changes how CPU-controlled teammates move and time their runs.

Who does this affect?

CPU-controlled teammates only: the +3 goes to his ten teammates, and Offensive Awareness is never used for the player you steer.

How it works

While he is his team's ball holder in open play, each of the other ten players on his team gets +3 Offensive Awareness. He gets nothing himself, and the boost ends the moment he passes, shoots or loses the ball. Like every stat boost it is added before the 99 cap. Offensive Awareness is only used to move CPU-controlled players; the clearest measured effect is a 0.04 to 0.07 s shorter wait before a CPU teammate may be picked for a forward run.

When it applies

Without it

His teammates keep their own Offensive Awareness.

Which stats it reads

Offensive Awareness (his teammates) raised by the skill
Full +3 up to 96 before booster points; 97 and 98 get less; 99 gets nothing. Helps teammates with low Offensive Awareness most.

In numbers

Run wait saved per teammateSeconds cut from a CPU teammate's wait before he can be picked for a forward run, by that teammate's Offensive Awareness before booster points (above 99 = a 99 card with booster points). The wait is counted in steps of 1/27 s, so the gain alternates between about 0.04 and 0.07 s.

Common questions

Does the ball holder himself get the boost?
Short answerNo
No. The game skips the holder; only his teammates get +3.
Does it make my controlled player smarter or faster?
Short answerNo
No. Offensive Awareness only steers CPU teammates.
Does the boost last after he passes?
Short answerNo
No. It ends the moment he lets go of the ball, so it only shapes runs that start while he is on the ball.
Does it stack if two teammates have Attack Trigger?
Short answerNo
No. Only the current holder counts, and the +3 never doubles.

Not yet confirmed

  • Whether his pass still counts as 'having the ball' for a few moments while it travels was not traced.
