Acceleration Burst
MixedChecked
In one sentence
Unlocks a special sharp-touch burst for a sharp change of direction with the ball, and makes his touches and pick-up slightly quicker when he sprints off from below 20 km/h.
Who does this affect?
Both: the dribble code is the same for the player you control and for CPU players; the CPU also only considers the move with the skill.
How it works
With the ball, a sharp change of direction (15.5–120° away from where he faces) on the sharp-touch input can trigger a special sharp-touch move that only owners have. And when he sprints with the ball while still slower than 20 km/h, his dribble touches come about 0.006 s sooner each and his acceleration with the ball is 2.5 % stronger. Everything is with the ball only.
When it applies
- He has the ball.
- Special sharp touch: the sharp-touch input with the stick 15.5–120° away from where he faces (and from his running direction during an animation).
- Touch and acceleration bonus: sprint held, speed below 20 km/h — bursting from a standstill or a slow dribble.
Without it
There is no move on that sharp-touch path, and his touches and acceleration use the normal values.
Which stats it reads
Tight Possession sets how strong
Sets the shortest time between dribble touches. While the bonus is active the game counts his touch quality as if Tight Possession were higher (about 4 points in the 60–89 range, more below 60 and above 90), which saves a steady 0.006 s per touch at any Tight Possession.
Acceleration raised by the skill
His stat does not change; the acceleration with the ball is multiplied by 1.025 while he sprints off below 20 km/h.
Dribbling sets how strong
The special sharp touch plays at his normal Dribbling (no +20 like most feint skills).
Ball Control sets how strong
Sets the random error of the burst touch, improving up to 99.

Common questions
Does Acceleration Burst help without the ball?
Short answerNo
Every effect is in the dribble code, with the ball.
Does it raise his Acceleration stat?
Short answerNo
His stat does not change; only his pick-up with the ball below 20 km/h gets 2.5 % stronger.
Is it useful at top speed?
Short answerNo
Every bonus switches off from 20 km/h. It is for bursting from a standstill or a slow dribble.
Not yet confirmed
- That the switch behind the bonus is the sprint (Dash) input is likely, not certain.
- Which in-game control is the code’s sharp-touch input was not traced.
- What a further +0.1 in the dribble planner (after 4 or more touches, aiming above 20 km/h from below) raises.
- Stick angles are measured by the game against the way he is facing; whether this is his body facing or his running direction was not separated.
- That the body-size value behind the height effect is height ÷ 180 cm is likely but not fully traced.
The maths
ConditionWith the ball only; the special sharp touch does not exist for non-owners.
ConditionTouch and acceleration bonus only below 20 km/h while sprinting.
DetailNo +20 Dribbling: the burst plays at his normal Dribbling.
LimitTired legs: when his sprint reserve has dropped to 80 % or less (after a long sprint), every feint counts Dribbling 25 lower, up to 50 lower when the reserve is empty. This comes before the skill’s +20.
DetailBody height counts too: shorter players play every feint slightly faster (about 2.6 points of speed more at 165 cm than at 180 cm, and 2.6 less at 195 cm).
DetailNot used by this skill: Speed — not read by the burst bonus; Off-the-ball running — no effect at all without the ball
