Attack Outlet

AttackStill being reviewed
In one sentence
When the other team has the ball, the CPU never puts him into the line of defenders it sets side by side, and handles him like one individual instruction in several places.

Who does this affect?

Only players the CPU is moving while the other team has the ball: your AI teammates and the opponent's players. When you steer him, your input decides. Found on: A defensive (second) style. Compatible: CF, SS, LWF/RWF, AMF. In the mobile card data it is on 2 cards (one CF, one SS), both as the second style.

How it works

Attack Outlet is stored in the card's defensive style list and is read only by the CPU's positioning code while the other team has the ball (about 25 places). In one routine the CPU lines up 4 to 8 outfield players at the same depth, side by side 3 to 5 m apart, taking the most defensive positions first; an Attack Outlet is never one of them, exactly like a player who has the individual instruction the code numbers 16. Which in-game instruction number 16 is could not be confirmed (the menu's own instruction numbers run 1 to 7 and the mapping table was not found). Limit: these CPU decisions give players numbered roles that have no names in the code. Turning each role into a named move (for example a run in behind) needs the whole CPU role system mapped, which this audit could not complete, and live measurement was not possible (no device connection). They are therefore described only by what the code checks.

When it applies

Without it

A forward without it can be one of the players the CPU lines up at the same depth.

Common questions

Is Attack Outlet the same as the Counter Target instruction?
Short answerPartly
In several out-of-possession routines the style and the code's instruction number 16 take the same branch. That number 16 is Counter Target could not be confirmed from the code.
Does he stop defending completely?
Short answerNo
The code shows he is left out of one defensive line-up routine; the other places that read the style could not be tied to a named action.
Does the style help when I control him?
Short answerNo
Only CPU out-of-possession positioning reads it.
Does the style still work if I play him out of position?
Short answerNo
No for the positioning parts: they check his formation slot every time and do nothing outside CF, SS, winger or AMF slots.

The maths

ConditionWorks only while he is deployed in a CF, SS, LWF/RWF or AMF slot. The game checks the slot every time against a fixed list; in any other slot these parts do nothing.
DetailNever in the side-by-side line of 4-8 players when the opponent has the ball.

DetailNot used by this style: No player stat is read by the style's code.
