Fortress
Stat boostChecked
In one sentence
From the second half on, while his team is ahead, he gets +6 Defensive Awareness, Tackling, Aggression and Defensive Engagement.
Who does this affect?
Both: the boost is on his stats, so it counts whether you or the CPU control him.
How it works
Fortress is a plain conditional stat boost. While the match is in the second half (or extra time) and his team has scored more goals, four defensive stats get +6 each. The boost switches off the moment the lead is gone. There is no position, zone or ball condition. The +6 is added before the 99 limit, so it is partly or fully wasted on stats at 94 or more.
When it applies
- Second half or later (extra time included); never in the first half.
- His team strictly leads. A draw or a deficit gives nothing.
- Checked again all the time, so it appears and disappears with the score.
- Anywhere on the pitch, any position, with or without the ball.
Without it
Same player with his normal Defensive Awareness, Tackling, Aggression and Defensive Engagement.
Which stats it reads
Defensive Awareness, Tackling, Aggression, Defensive Engagement raised by the skill
+6 each, capped at 99 before boosters, each stat separately. Full +6 up to 93, partial at 94–98, nothing at 99. A 95 Tackling gains 4. Booster points are added after the cap and are never cut: a 99 card with +5 boosters plays at 104 with or without Fortress.
Defensive Awareness raised by the skill
Example: +6 can lift a CPU marker over an update step (85 to 91 shortens his pause from 0.22 s to 0.15 s) and widens his blocks.
Tackling raised by the skill
Example: +6 can lift him over a slide speed step (80 to 86 = 100 % to 105 %) and adds tackle and slide reach.

Common questions
Does Fortress work when the score is level in the second half?
Short answerNo
It needs a lead: own goals must be more than the opponent's.
Is Fortress only for defenders or only in his own half?
Short answerNo
No position or zone is checked; any player with the skill gets it anywhere.
Is Fortress wasted on a player with 99 in those stats?
Short answerYes
A stat already at 99 before boosters gains nothing; boosters do not change that.
Does Fortress make him foul more because of the Aggression boost?
Short answerNo
The referee's foul decision reads no stats, so Aggression has no direct effect on fouls.
Not yet confirmed
- That every extra-time phase counts as 'second half or later' (the phase number is 3 or more there).
The maths
ConditionOnly from the second half, only while leading. A draw switches it off.
LimitThe +6 is added before the 99 limit: partial at 94–98, zero at 99.
DetailBoosters are added after the limit and are never reduced by it.
DetailStacks with other boost skills on the same stats, still limited to 99 before boosters.
DetailNot used by this skill: Speed, Physical Contact, Heading — not part of the boost.
