GK Catching
Checked
In one sentence
GK Catching decides how fast a shot can be held instead of parried.
Who does this affect?
The goalkeeper
99
Build target
A straight line to 99. The catch-or-parry decision stops dead at 99, so boosters cannot make him hold faster shots. 90 removes the last extra tick on catching saves.
How it works
The fastest catchable shot rises from 92 km/h at 40 to 110 km/h at 99. Above that the keeper must parry or make a reflex save. A lower catch limit (64–90 km/h) applies to shots that arrive close and low.
What a point buys
| 40 → 99 | +0.30 km/h catchable |
| 90 | −1 tick on catching saves |
| 99 → 120 | half value on the save rating only |
Booster points: Boosters do not raise the fastest catchable shot. They only count at half value in the keeper save rating (120 plays as 110).

Common questions
Does Catching help parries?
Short answerNo
Parries use Parrying. Only slow shots use the best of Catching, Reflexes and Reach.
The maths
DetailNo catch is possible in the first 0.37 s after the shot at 40, 0.22 s at 99.
LimitSave rating: up to 89 it is cut by 2 %; above 100 every keeper stat counts half (100 + (stat − 100) / 2). Slow balls under 50 km/h skip both rules.
