Deep-lying Forward

AttackStill being reviewed
In one sentence
In some support situations his spot is set 3 m deeper (10 m in another), and as a CF he gets the push-up rule that second strikers and AMFs already have.

Who does this affect?

Only players the CPU is moving: your AI teammates and the opponent's players. The style changes where the CPU puts him and what the CPU decides for him; while you steer him yourself, your input decides. Found on: Compatible: CF, SS. In the mobile card data: 359 cards (CF 308, SS 51).

How it works

Deep-lying Forward only changes CPU positioning and one CPU score. In the CPU's support positions while his team has the ball, his spot is moved 3 m back towards his own goal in one situation and 10 m back in another. A rule that moves the support area of second strikers and attacking midfielders 10 m forward when a reference teammate is within 15 m also applies to him when he plays CF. One CPU on-the-ball option score gets +10. Limit: the code does not name the situations that choose the 3 m or 10 m drop, nor the reference teammate, and they could not be identified; these CPU decisions give players numbered roles that have no names in the code. Turning each role into a named move (for example a run in behind) needs the whole CPU role system mapped, which this audit could not complete, and live measurement was not possible (no device connection). They are therefore described only by what the code checks.

When it applies

Without it

A CF without the style keeps the normal support spot and does not get the 10 m push-up rule.

Which stats it reads

Physical Contact sets how strong
Adds 0 to 60 points to one CPU on-the-ball option score: nothing at 60 or below, the full 60 at 80 and above. The style adds 10 on top; the score is kept between 20 and 100.
Offensive Awareness sets how strong
Adds 0 to 20 points to the same score: nothing at 60 or below, the full 20 at 90 and above.

Common questions

Does Deep-lying Forward make him a better passer?
Short answerNo
No pass code reads the style; only his support spot and one CPU option score change.
Does the style do more at SS than at CF?
Short answerNo
At SS the 10 m push-up rule applies to every player; the style's own extra is the 3 m/10 m deeper spot in both slots.
Does the style help when I control the player myself?
Short answerNo
Every place in the code that reads this style is CPU positioning or a CPU decision. Your own dribbles, passes, shots and runs never look at it.
Does the style still work if I play him out of position?
Short answerPartly
No for the positioning parts: they check his formation slot every time and do nothing outside CF or SS slots. The +10 option score ignores the slot.

The maths

ConditionWorks only while he is deployed in a CF or SS slot. The game checks the slot every time against a fixed list; in any other slot these parts do nothing.
StepSupport spot 3 m deeper (10 m in another situation).
Detail10 m push-up rule near a reference teammate: already standard at SS/AMF, added for a CF.
DetailLimit: this score belongs to one of the options the CPU weighs when it has the ball at his feet; the option class has no name in the code and its follow-up action could not be identified, and live measurement was not possible, so the card does not name the move (for example holding the ball up).
DetailNot used by this style: Low Pass, Ball Control, Tight Possession and the other ball stats are not read by the positioning parts of the style.
