Heel Trick
MixedChecked
In one sentence
Unlocks heel-flick passes and a close-range first-time heel shot, adds +5 accuracy to every heel kick, and lets back-heel passes go 10 m instead of 7 m.
Who does this affect?
Both: the kick animation and accuracy code is the same for the player you control and for CPU players; CPU players also choose heel passes more often with the skill.
How it works
Every heel kick (pass or shot) by an owner gets +5 on the accuracy stat it uses. The game picks a back-heel animation for passes up to 10 m instead of 7 m, and owners get heel-flick animations that other players never use, including a first-time heel shot from inside 7 m. The skill does not remove the weak-foot penalty: a heel kick with his weaker foot still loses accuracy as usual.
When it applies
- First-time passes or shots with the ball behind or beside him.
- Back-heel pass animations: used for passes up to 10 m with the skill, 7 m without; on a first-time ball up to 3 m more for everyone, depending on the incoming ball.
- Heel shot: first-time only, from inside 7 m, owners only.
Without it
He can still play short backward passes up to 7 m with the ordinary back-pass animations, but never the heel-flick animations or the heel shot, and heel kicks get no +5.
Which stats it reads
Finishing / Low Pass / Lofted Pass (whichever the kick uses) raised by the skill
+5 to the accuracy stat of a heel kick, added inside the kick calculation on top of the full stat including booster points, so it is never wasted at 99. It does not stack with other +5 kick skills: one +5 per kick.
Weak Foot Accuracy sets how strong
Only when the heel kick is made with his weaker foot: the usual penalty of 3 / 7 / 11 / 15 points at Weak Foot Accuracy 4 / 3 / 2 / 1 still applies. At level 1 that is three times the skill’s +5.
Common questions
Does Heel Trick remove the weak-foot penalty on heel kicks?
Short answerNo
The usual weak-foot accuracy penalty still applies.
Can players without the skill back-heel?
Short answerPartly
They can play short backward passes up to 7 m, but not the heel-flick animations or the heel shot.
Is the +5 wasted on a 99 Finishing player?
Short answerNo
It is added inside the kick formula, which keeps rising above 99.
Does Heel Trick make every pass more accurate?
Short answerNo
Only kicks played with a heel animation get the +5.
