Edged Crossing
New moveChecked
In one sentence
Unlocks a dipping topspin cross for 12 to 32 m crosses of a still or slow ball (under 30 km/h); that cross's height and pace errors are 30 % smaller.
Who does this affect?
Both: the motion and its error treatment are in the kick code that runs for your crosses and the CPU's. Two extra uses only change CPU estimates.
How it works
With the skill, a lofted cross of a ball moving slower than 30 km/h, aimed 12 to 32 m away, first tries a kicking motion that only Edged Crossing players have. It puts forward spin on the ball (2.4 to 3.4 in the game's spin units, 4.6 on a stronger version, plus a little sidespin), where most crosses carry backspin, so the ball dips. For this cross the error in height and in pace, and how widely those errors spread, are cut by 30 %. The left/right error is not changed. If the motion cannot be used (timing or foot), he crosses normally.
When it applies
- A lofted cross (not a ground cross).
- The ball is still or moving slower than 30 km/h when he strikes it, so a first-time cross of a fast pass does not qualify.
- The target is 12 to 32 m away.
- If the motion cannot be played, the normal cross selection runs.
- No random chance.
Without it
He never gets this motion and crosses with the normal motions, their usual backspin and their full error.
Which stats it reads
Lofted Pass sets how strong
Still sets the cross's accuracy as for any cross. The skill then removes 30 % of the height and pace error, so a weaker crosser gains more in absolute terms.
Common questions
Does Edged Crossing cut cross errors to 30 %?
Short answerNo
No. The height and pace errors become 70 % of normal (30 % smaller), and the left/right error is not changed.
Is Edged Crossing just a stat boost?
Short answerNo
No. It unlocks its own cross motion; no stat is raised.
Does it work on first-time crosses?
Short answerPartly
Only when the ball is slow (under 30 km/h); a first-time cross of a fast pass uses the normal cross.
Does a higher Curl make edged crosses bend more?
Short answerNo
No. Its spin is fixed.

The maths
ConditionOnly lofted crosses of 12 to 32 m from a still or slow ball (under 30 km/h).
DetailThe ball gets topspin and dips; most crosses carry backspin. Curl plays no part in that spin.
DetailHeight and pace errors (and their spread) are 30 % smaller; the left/right error is unchanged.
BendThe topspin is 3.4 up to 25 m and eases to 2.4 by 30 m.
DetailIf the edged motion cannot be used, he crosses normally.
DetailNot used by this skill: Curl — the edged cross's spin is fixed; Kicking Power — not read
