Penalty Specialist
Better actionChecked
In one sentence
Penalties land closer to where you aim: the largest possible random miss shrinks by 0.1 m sideways and 0.1 m up or down. Penalty speed is unchanged.
Who does this affect?
Both: the error is applied to every penalty, the player you control included; CPU penalty takers use the same error when choosing where to aim.
How it works
Every penalty gets a random offset added to the aim point, anywhere up to a limit sideways and up or down. The limit grows with power and when aiming close to the posts or the bar, and shrinks as 0.6 × Set Piece Taking + 0.4 × Finishing rises. Penalty Specialist takes 0.1 m off this limit in both directions. Nothing else in the game reads this skill.
When it applies
- Penalty kicks, in matches and in shoot-outs.
- Every penalty, at any power and any aim.
Without it
The random-miss limit is 0.1 m larger in both directions; everything else is the same.
Which stats it reads
Set Piece Taking sets how strong
Counts 60 % in the blend that shrinks the random miss. Each blend point from 40 upward (and on past 99 with boosters) takes about 0.008 m off a 60 % power corner penalty. The skill's 0.1 m is worth about 13 blend points.
Finishing sets how strong
Counts 40 % in the same blend.
In numbers

Common questions
Does Penalty Specialist make penalties faster?
Short answerNo
Penalty speed comes from power, aim height and Kicking Power; the skill is not read there.
Does it beat the goalkeeper more often by itself?
Short answerNo
It is only read in the penalty aim error; the keeper's reactions do not check it.
Is it worth it with 99 Set Piece Taking and Finishing?
Short answerYes
The 0.1 m cut is the same at any stats, and the blend has no cap, so it still helps at 99.
Not yet confirmed
- Which of the two aim coordinates is height and which is sideways was read from how they are compared with the goal width and crossbar height.
The maths
DetailThe miss is random and evenly spread within the limit, so the average miss is half the limit: the skill cuts it by 0.05 m on average.
DetailExample, 60 % power low corner: blend 70 → 0.72 m with the skill, 0.82 m without; 99 → 0.50 vs 0.60 m; 120 with boosters → 0.34 vs 0.44 m.
DetailPower matters far more: from 20 % to 100 % power the limit grows by up to 0.8 m (less with a high blend). Aiming high adds up to 0.3 m, aiming at the post up to 0.15 m.
DetailChipped penalties add 0.4 m to the limit (0.2 m with Chip Shot Control).
DetailNot used by this skill: Kicking Power — penalty speed has no skill term; Kicking Power only adds speed above 75 % power (up to 10 km/h at 99).; Weak Foot Accuracy — not part of the penalty aim error.
