Set Piece Taking
Checked
In one sentence
Set Piece Taking only matters for free kicks, corners and penalties.
Who does this affect?
Only your free-kick, corner and penalty taker
90
Build target
From 90 the near-post re-roll and the aim scatter are small. Below 80 both are large.
How it works
It never sets accuracy in open play. It shrinks how far a set piece can stray from where you aim, and how much the ball wobbles in flight.
What a point buys
| 60 → 80 | −2.3 % re-rolls |
| 80 → 90 | −0.8 % |
| 90 → 99 | −0.2 % |
Booster points: Boosters count: scatter keeps shrinking past 99.

Common questions
Does it matter for corners?
Short answerYes
Corners and long free-kick deliveries get the same aim scatter (3.75 m at 40 to 1.9 m at 99 over 30 m).
Does it matter for goal kicks?
Short answerNo sign of it
No goal-kick code reads it.
The maths
DetailThe re-roll: if a direct free-kick shot would go in within 1 m of a post, the game may run the flight scatter once more from the original aim (57 % at 60, 11 % at 80, 2.5 % at 90). The new attempt is random and can still go in.
DetailIn-flight wobble shrinks from 0.63 at 40 to 0.44 at 90 and 0.34 at 120. Curling against the kicking foot's natural direction costs 5 points here.
DetailPenalty accuracy uses 0.6 × Set Piece Taking + 0.4 × Finishing, with no cap. Set-piece sidespin uses 0.6 × Curl + 0.4 × Set Piece Taking.
LimitUseless for anyone who does not take set pieces.
