Sliding Tackle
MixedChecked
In one sentence
His slides are worked out as if his Tackling were 5 higher (faster slide, longer reach), and near his own box one extra slide variant opens.
Who does this affect?
Both for the slide itself; the choice of how many slide variants to try is CPU-only.
How it works
Everyone can slide. Sliding Tackle makes the slide formulas use Tackling + 5, with no 99 limit: the slide speed step, the slide reach and a small follow-up term. Near his own penalty area, running fast, with no teammate already engaging, he can also get an extra slide variant. The CPU tries its longer slide variants 5 Tackling points earlier. No code gives a better chance to win the ball itself.
When it applies
- Any sliding tackle: speed step and reach.
- Extra slide variant: in or within 3 m of his own penalty area, no teammate already engaging him within 3.75 m, and running fast.
- CPU slide decisions: which slide variants are tried.
Without it
Slides use his real Tackling, and the extra slide variant is never offered.
Which stats it reads
Tackling sets how strong
Slide speed steps (93 / 97 / 100 / 105 / 110 %) start at 60, 70, 85 and 100; with the skill at 55, 65, 80 and 95. So the skill moves him up a step only at Tackling 55–59, 65–69, 80–84 and 95–99. At 95–99 it gives the top step that otherwise needs boosters; from 100 it adds no speed.
Tackling (reach) sets how strong
Slide reach grows faster and faster up to 99, then slowly to 120. +5 Tackling adds most between 70 and 99; little below 60, nothing from 115.
Tackling (CPU) sets how strong
The CPU tries the longer slide variants from Tackling 80; with the skill from 75. Further steps at 100 and 120 (95 and 115 with the skill).

Common questions
Can only players with Sliding Tackle slide?
Short answerNo
Everyone can slide; the skill makes slides faster and longer.
Does the skill raise the chance to win the ball?
Short answerNo
No ball-win roll exists in its code; it wins more balls only by reaching more of them.
Do booster points count for slides?
Short answerYes
Slides read Tackling with boosters and the skill's +5 has no 99 limit; Tackling 100+ gives the top 110 % speed step.
Not yet confirmed
- The unit of the slide reach value (probably metres).
- Which animation the extra slide variant is; the running speed it needs is 13.5 in the game's speed unit (probably km/h).
The maths
StepSlide speed steps: with the skill at Tackling 55 / 65 / 80 / 95; without at 60 / 70 / 85 / 100.
DetailBoosters count: the +5 and the steps use Tackling including boosters.
LimitFrom Tackling 100 the skill no longer changes slide speed; from 115 it no longer changes reach.
DetailRelative size: at Tackling 80 the skill adds about a quarter more Tackling reach (0.92 to 1.16 of a maximum 2.67).
ConditionExtra slide variant only near his own box, while running fast, with no teammate already engaging.
DetailNot used by this skill: Aggression, Defensive Awareness — not read by the slide formulas.; Speed — his running speed changes slide reach, but the skill does not touch it.
